Workmanship refers to how the fence was installed — the quality of the labor and technique, not the materials themselves. For example: posts set at the wrong depth, boards installed with incorrect spacing, gates hung crooked, rails not properly secured. If your fence has a problem because of something we did (or didn't do) during installation, that's a workmanship issue and it's covered.
Minor cracking, checking, and seasonal movement are natural characteristics of wood — those are not covered under warranty. However, if boards are failing prematurely because of how they were installed, or if posts are heaving or leaning due to improper concrete setting, that is a workmanship issue and is covered. Annual staining or sealing is required to maintain warranty coverage on wood.
No — storm damage does not void your warranty, but damage caused by storms is not covered under warranty. The warranty only covers defects in our installation. Storm or impact damage is a separate repair situation. We are happy to provide repair estimates for storm-damaged fences — just call us.
Yes. All of our warranties are transferable. Contact us before or shortly after closing, and we will update our records to reflect the new owner. For wood fences, the new owner must agree to continue the annual staining or sealing requirement. Transferable warranties can be a real selling point when listing your home.
We keep records of every installation we perform. When you call with a warranty claim, we pull your file using your address and install date. You don't need to register anything — just hold onto your invoice, which serves as your warranty document.
